BergSpace Design — I have been designing and editing websites, images, and photographs for the web since 1994. This is my professional design website, within which are links to hire me, as well as sample galleries, free graphics, logo examples, and contact information. I specialize in small businesses and consultants, but I'm qualified (hey, I teach this stuff) to do larger sites and nonprofits.
Culture-Cast.org — is a not-for-profit new media group dedicated to casting a critical eye on traditional media. We want to pause the news cycle where it needs to be so paused, to delve deeper into events, actions, histories, personalities, and the language that surrounds our issues of the day. We also want to provide a truly alternative outlet: to recommend and review music, art, literature, poetry, film, and other media that are missing from traditional media outlets (even alternative media misses some quality goods). There are few reviews or recommendations for books, music, poetry, films, and art that aren't current or "hot," despite their outstanding qualities. I designed the site and edit the podcast.

In Progress - In which I track my essay ideas, theory notions, and general academic thoughts as my coursework continues, slogging ever closer to the end of the Ph.D. Rarely but occasionally updated.

Just posted to Conjecture, my personal blog - an entry that delves into the darker side of my annoyance with fearmongering, rankings, ratings, and useless rubrics applied to everyday life that, for some reason, counts for "News" in some circles. I was just too irritated to ignore it. The post is, for those of you who don't like reading so much, fairly long, but you'll get used to my sanctimonious babble - you might even find it amusing or enlightening.

Two book reviews have been posted, William Gamson's Talking Politics (1992) and Richard Davis's The Web of Politics (1999). Soon to come are Edelman's Symbolic Uses of Politics and Bimber and Davis's Campaigning Online (2005). Expect new books on the tab of about one per week. Also updated was the family site, with new videos (including downloads), photo galleries, and archives available. Expect a new update to the family site fairly soon, including holiday videos and a photo retrospective of 2007.

This is a new section. I've been reading dozens (literally) of academic books about politics, interface, digital media, rhetorics of the image and more, and I thought I'd post my favorites as I found them. Coming soon: Edelman's Symbolic Uses of Politics, DeLuca & Buell's Liars! Cheaters! Evildoers! Demonization and the End of Civil Debate, and William Gamson's Talking Politics.
